R.I.P Margaret Tatcher

Today, the world lost one the most memorable and power woman in the world. Her work as Prime Minister was nothing short of brilliant and she showed nothing short of guts and determination during her term of office.

I have been greatly inspired by her and some of her greatest quotes resonate with me about how life should be led.

"If you just set out to be liked, you would be prepared to compromise on anything at any time and you would achieve nothing." - May 3, 1989, commenting on her 10th anniversary as prime minister.
"There are dangers in consensus: it could be an attempt to satisfy people holding no particular views about anything. ... No great party can survive except on the basis of firm beliefs about what it wants to do." - Oct. 10, 1968, Conservative Party conference.
So many times, we unknowingly change ourselves for the sake of others, for others to like us and accept who we are. Fake personalities are created and who are they created for? Why should anyone live for the sake of what others like or believe in? Indeed no one great ever became great because he behaved according to how society wants him to be. He became great because his beliefs influenced society's perceptions and expectations. Not the other way round.

Thank you Margaret Tatcher for a constant reminder on why everyone should believe in themselves.
